The timing belt is one of the components of your vehicles internal combustion engine. It is responsible for controlling the correct timing of the crankshaft and camshaft, synchronising the opening and closing of the engine valves with the pistons.
All manufacturers have a recommended interval for having your timing belt replaced. This is because the timing belt will experience a lot of wear of its lifetime, this wear can cause it to snap which can cause severe and very expensive damage. As such manufacturers will advise a replacement before such a time has passed that would allow for significant wear.
If you have experienced damage as a result of a timing belt snapping, or if you are unsure if you need a replacement or what your manufacturers specified intervals are then contact us below to discuss this further.
